After a short while, the Artists arrived early with their pieces of work as it takes time to hang up each picture with wire coming down from the ceiling! As organizers and Artists were busy hanging up pictures and setting up, the Poets and guests started to slowly arrive too. At approximately 3.30 the event kicked off with myself welcoming everyone and the chairman. The chairman, Mohammed Ridha Hamid, introduced the event with a video about Babylon Trust. Shortly after, he welcomed up some of the Artists who wanted to speak about their work. First Artist to speak was Haider Al Wakeel, followed by Ala Kermani and also Mohamed Bilal. Other Artists that attended with their work included, Aun Kazemi, Maryam Hilli & Rim Walid.

The Poetry section was split in to two parts, it began with Mohammed Ridha starting with his own poem followed by the first group of Poets, they included Sadiq Demani, Xena Maki, Maryam Hilli, Sajad Al Hairi, Ali Hussain and Mohsin Shah. After some amazing poetry it was time for a short refreshments break, where people networked and enjoyed our lovely food! At 5pm the show started again with group two of the poets – Ibrahim Sincere, Nouri Sardar, Mohammed Hussain, Ali Khan, & Sanasino. Ridha then closed the poetry with his own poem and explained it was time to vote for everyone’s favorite Artist or Poet, (this was simply for some fun and we were not trying to compare any of the talents). After another short break when the votes were counted, it was time for the Awards, which the founder of Babylon Trust Mr Shakir Shabaa handed over. Ghadeer announced the Best Artist Award, which went to Haider Al Wakeel. I announded the best Poet Award which went to Ibrahim Sincere. Ghadeer wrapped up the event with a few last words on behalf of Babylon Trust.

We thank all the Artists and Poets for making our event so special with their great talents and the attendees that made our event successful.
